| Oh, for crying out loud. |

ToysRUs.com seems to have a bunch of new Bratz goodies, but they stopped appearing in searches mere moments ago, just as soon as I went to update here. bonsly managed to save the pix and now they've been posted on dolly_cafeteria, thankfully. There's Hair Magic dolls with "memory hair" that apparently retains crimps, and Cloe has indigo streaks much like her Karaoke Babyz doll does. Also, Mermaidz Babyz, with cute pink and orange hair streaks, and tails which don't look removable. I hope they'll be back up shortly.
Big Babyz RC Motorbike... is this new?
Anyways, I forgot to mention this tangent in my last post about the Gwen Stefani dolls: She just released a song called "Wind It Up" and it's... well, let's just say that I think she's capable of far better. Of course, this was right after my favorite band ever, the Barenaked Ladies, released their single called "Wind It Up." That can't bode well. Sort of like when they released "Falling For the First Time" right before 9/11. |

MGA has a "Parentz" page. Definitely a good idea, I think. But it's a little wierd that on one hand, the safe surfing advice section advises against giving out personal information, while on the other, they seem to be gearing up a section to "Tell all about your Bratz Girl!" |

| New stuff from TRU online |

Bratz Babyz Bathtime Blitz Jade, Yasmin, Cloe and Sasha. They come in swimsuits... I guess it was either that or terrycloth robes, and robes use a lot more fabric. My point is, the swimsuits have a LOT more coverage than the eeentsy little triangle top bikinis that the Bubble Trouble Babyz wore, which to me is a relief. The bathtub seems to be incorporated as part of the packaging, which is just brilliant.
Itsy RC vehicles! Dana, Cloe and Yasmin. However, the dolls are non-detachable.
Hair Magic Sasha, Yasmin, Jade and Cloe. They seem a bit expensive for a basic doll ($26.99US) but I suspect that you're paying for the memory hair fiber and the various styling tools depicted with Sasha.
Talking Bratz: Live Chat Edition Yasmin, Cloe, Sasha and Jade. I wonder whether they're just in new outfits, or if there are any upgrades and changes to the chatbox? The "Live Chat" thing makes me imagine where they could go with these things: imagine a Talking Bratz that you periodically hook up to the computer via USB, and it downloads new conversation sets: "How do you like the winter weather? Guess what happened to Sasha this week!" and so on. I'm sure it's totally doable now, just not at a $30 price point. Really, I'm just glad they don't have flashing lips like the prototypes in the TV ad did.
Almost forgot: Bratz Babyz Mermaidz Sasha, Jade, Yasmin and Cloe. It says they have color-change hair. The tails look permanent. |

Check out this homemade Wicked Twin Bratz costume. Awesome. I know from recent experience that making an even halfway decent papier-mache mask is no easy thing, either.

| Duff alert |
[Nov. 5th, 2006|10:36 pm] |
Found on ohnotheydidnt, of all places:
The Duff sisters have been hawking Fashion Fever Barbie for a while now, but only now do they have actual FF dolls. I wonder why it took this long? Did they have to wait for the original Playmates Hilary Duff doll contract to run out?
I'd link them directly off TRU.com, but of course the search function is flaking again. It's like it knows when I've logged in to LJ or something.
The new Hilary face is a vast improvement over the original dolls, but the skinny jeans make it look like she has no feet whatsoever.
Now all we need is a tattooed Ken as Joel Madden doll and we'll be all set. |
